This session is designed to help the Sickle Cell Warrior understand mental health issues as they relate to SCD. The objectives are to:
vStart the conversation on mental health issues associated with SCD
vWhat is mental health and mental health awareness
vDescribe symptoms of specific mental health issues
vDiscuss symptoms and triggers of mental illness
vFacilitate the discussion on Depression, Stress & Anxiety, PTSD and Suicidal Ideation
vFacilitate discussion on stigma reducing strategies & the development of patient-oriented interventions to prevent and treat mental health-related stigma
